“In the purest sense, a landing page is any web page that a visitor can arrive at or “land” on. However, when discussing landing pages within the realm of marketing and advertising, it’s more common to refer to a landing page as being a standalone web page distinct from your main website that has been designed for a single focused objective.”

Do i need a landing page?

The ultimate goal is to have the visitor purchase immediately but this is actually even rarer than you think as 96% of first time visitors are not ready to buy.

The primary objective is to complete a sale but the secondary objective is to generate a lead which is why its always a good idea to have a simple contact form or signup, subscribe or newsletter option so you can add them to your sales funnel.

This then gives you the opportunity to approach the customer again and nurture them down your sales funnel via email, phone or social media to influence them to buy from you.

You need to have a well thought out design as you want the primary focus of capturing the customers information and if you include your main navigation bar for example it tempts the user away from filling in their details.
